Engineering Detail

Why Adjustable
Diameter?

Traditional fixed-diameter fasteners require exact bore sizing — any variation means rejection. GMP's Adjustable Diameter Pin solves this by accommodating a range of bore diameters within a single fastener, reducing inventory complexity and assembly time.

The adjustable collar mechanism maintains consistent clamping force while compensating for manufacturing tolerances in mating components — critical in assemblies where weight, fatigue cycles, and vibration resistance all demand precision.

  • Reduces inventory SKUs by replacing multiple fixed-size fasteners
  • Maintains precise clamping torque across diameter range
  • Premium surface finish and material traceability
  • Compatible with standard MS/NAS hole patterns

STANDARD MARKET

Adjustable Diameter Bolts

Adjustable Diameter Bolts have a high clamp capability. The shear strength is comparable to a solid bolt. Even though the bolt completely fills the hole, it is easily removed without any special tools.

Applications

Where GMP Fasteners
Are Used

01

Aircraft Ground Support & UAVs

These pins are utilized for securing equipment used in high-vibration and high-stress environments, providing reliable retention across a wide range of aerospace support applications.

02

Engine & Critical Component Mounting

Used where secure, zero-clearance fastening is required — such as in engine mounts — where precision fit and retention are non-negotiable.

03

Rapid Deployment & Removal

A cam handle or push-button mechanism allows for quick, manual operation without needing specialized tools — critical in time-sensitive field environments.

04

Weapon Mounting Systems

Expanding segments fill the hole completely, providing a tight radial fit that eliminates vibration and delivers high shear and tensile strength in demanding weapon mounting applications.

Buyer agrees to defend, indemnify, assume any liability, save and hold harmless seller, its agents, affiliates, employees, customers, insurers, successors and assigns, from and against any claims, demands, suits, liabilities, penalties, losses, damages, or charges, settlements, judgments, costs and expenses (including attorney's fees incurred), by any third party arising out of or based on any alleged non-conformity, defect or failure of any product covered by a P.O. or arising out of any actual or alleged violation by such products of any statute, ordinance, rule or regulation or misuse. This indemnity includes without limitation any product safety or quality control recall, corrective action or product retrofit, and any action or proceeding arising out of any of the above occurrences.

Freight

All items are FOB Shipping Point. In ordering the Buyer should state explicitly the method of shipment preferred, and in the absence of shipping direction, the Seller will use discretion, forwarding by express or parcel post when packages are small and therefore liable to be lost in transit by freight. Parcel post shipment will be insured at Buyer's expense unless otherwise specified.

Payment Terms

Net 30. In the event of an occasional late payment, a 1-1/2% finance charge (minimum $2.50) will be applied per month to past due balances. Payments may be made via cash, check, or wire transfer.

Under no circumstances will the Seller be liable for damages or claims for expense involved in using the product. Seller will not allow claims for defective goods on these parts further processed by the Buyer and resulting in change of either dimensions or the characteristics from parts as ordered. Claims for shortage must be made within ten (10) days from receipt of the goods.

Inspection

Inspection by the Seller is made on a percentage basis only. If 100% inspection is required it is at Buyer's expense, and only such parts proved not as ordered by Buyer's inspection may be returned with a claim for repair, credit or replacement, as covered by Claims and Quantities sections.

Patents

It is not the intention of the Seller to manufacture any product which is an infringement of a patented article. Parts are made by the Seller strictly to dimensional specifications furnished by the Buyer. It is agreed that the Buyer will defend and save harmless the Seller from any and all expense involved in any claims for damages from infringements of letters patent by the use of sale of parts made by the Seller, either as such or as parts or units of complete entities. Buyer does not assume responsibility for parts made on equipment violating licenses. In line with the general practice of the industry, the fact that we find it necessary to charge for tools, dies, fixtures, or gages does not convey ownership or the right to remove them from our factory, unless specifically agreed upon in writing. The delivery date indicated is given in all sincerity and can be met at this time. Of necessity, however, it is subject to prior sale of capacity. The Seller does not assume responsibility for any damages growing out of, or owing to, any delays which are beyond his control. If partial shipments are required special arrangements must be made. All partial shipments will be invoiced and must be paid under our regular terms.
